By doing so, however, Michelle would lose her health insurance. Dana-Farber employee marks 250th platelet donation, challenges others
Kevin Blake began working at Dana-Farber as an electrician in 1976. Within six months, he was inspired to donate platelets at the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center after doing work in a pediatric clinic. Thirty-two years later, he's still here and still donating platelets. On Sept. 19, he marked his 250th donation. Read more

8,000 walk to raise funds for cancer research and care
On Sunday, Sept. 21, the streets from Hopkinton to Boston were filled with approximately 8,000 people taking part in the 20th annual Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk, presented by Hyundai Motor America. This included 11 people who have participated in the Walk every year since it began in 1989.

New England Patriots Blood Drive
Dana-Farber Field House at Gillette Stadium
The New England Patriots continue their efforts to increase awareness of the importance of blood donation with a fall blood drive. Donors will be entered into a raffle to win Patriots prizes. Appointments will be scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. To be eligible to donate you must be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. For details and appointments, call (617) 732-6286. Blood donations collected will benefit patients treated at Dana-Farber and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
