MEDIA ADVISORY

14th ANNUAL

Philanthropy Midwest

Conference

October 30-31, 2006

Overland Park Convention Center

6000 College Blvd.

Overland Park, Kansas 66211

The Philanthropy Midwest Conference will bring 500 nonprofit leaders from Greater Kansas City, as well as Iowa and other parts of Missouri and Kansas, together for a conference that will address virtually every hot topic in the local and national nonprofit sector today.

As a representative of the media, you will benefit from attending any or all of the conference.

  • Gain understanding of the economic impact of philanthropy on our country’s growth at the opening keynote October 30, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
  • Find out how different values affect different generations and how that can help hone our messages in the October 31 keynote, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
  • Learn more about issues in 36 workshops listed below (see workshop descriptions in conference catalog at http://www.kcphilnet.org/).
  • Visit with local and national speakers and participants, most of whom work or volunteer for area nonprofits, during workshops, the opening evening reception, topical breakfast or lunch discussions, and vendor exhibition breaks throughout both days.

The Philanthropy Midwest Conference gives you the opportunity – all in one place and at the same time – to see and interact with people who form the vital core of our community’s nonprofit sector. It’s a sector that touches anyone who gives, volunteers, works for or is served by a nonprofit. In other words, you’ll leave the conference with contacts and information you can use to better inform and engage your audience on topics that concern just about all of us.
