Hello ,
I hope you are having a great summer. This is the fourth edition of the "Boughton Bulletin" and I want to thank you for your interest and for your
comments that I have received regarding the newsletter.
The idea of the newsletter, is to give you information that you need and to update you on issues that
might be of concern. I believe that you need the correct information about our city, and with the demise of
the main stream press, it is important that you have critical information at your fingertips. So don't be afraid to forward the "Boughton
Bulletin" to your friends and neighbors, and if you have someone that you think might enjoy the newsletter, please send me their e-mail address
(make sure that you ask first). I would also appreciate any thoughts or suggestions that you might have on how to improve the "Boughton
Bulletin".
In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the summer.
All The Best,
Mayor Mark

The Danbury Public Library has launched a new program called one book, one community. The program encourages the
Danbury and Western Connecticut State University communities to read the same book during the summer and the fall of 2008, then come together to
discuss the text in venues throughout the city and the university. For more information, visit the website at: www.onebookdanbury.org

City to move to 4-Day work
week.
Recently I announced our plans to move several city facilities to a 4 day work week. The plan would require city workers to work their regular thirty
five hours, but they must do so in a four day work week. The new proposed hours for City Hall are:
Mon: 7:30 AM-6:00 PM.
Tues: 7:30 AM-6:00 PM.
Wed: 7:30 AM-6:00 PM.
Thurs: 7:30 AM-6:30 PM
Fri: Closed
City Hall will be open two and a half more hours a week to assist you and conduct business. Inspections will still be conducted on Fridays and
some personnel will work from home. The idea is to reduce our energy costs by closing the building for 72 hours. Our team of engineers have estimated
that we can save up to $150,000 depending on the cost of oil. The Library will be closed on Fridays.
