(Nashville, Tenn.) December 12th, 2006 - I Hear Angels Calling, the new Christmas CD from internationally acclaimed recording artist Michele Pillar, is embraced by mainstream radio in Music City USA. Pillar, who has spent the last ten years dedicating herself to benevolent work for others, is receiving benevolence from radio for lyrics that resonate with listeners.

WJXA (Mix 92.9), the largest mainstream AC station in Nashville, Tennessee, added the title track, I Hear Angels Calling, into rotation for the Christmas holiday season. Phone calls to the station from listeners propelled the single into heavy rotation, thereby creating a demand for the CD in local retail stores. Border's Bookstores and Davis-Kidd Booksellers are carrying Pillar's CD this holiday season.

The story behind Pillar's lyric, I Hear Angels Calling, hit a chord.

"While writing for this CD, I couldn't help but think of the many people who have lost loved ones because of the war and tragedies like 9-11. They are facing this Christmas without them," states Pillar. "Writing the title track, I Hear Angels Calling, was all I knew to do to comfort them. And the response has been overwhelming to me."

Surrounded by world-class musicians, including husband, world renowned jazz guitarist Larry Carlton, I Hear Angels Calling showcases Pillar as a songwriter in her own right, having co-written 2 original Christmas songs out of the 10 holiday favorites. Adding to the project's strength are Nathan East, (bassist for Eric Clapton), Jeff Babko, music director for Jimmy Kimmel and Gregg Bissonett.

The single, Song of Mary (Holy Is The Lord), is currently being serviced to Christian AC and INSPO Radio formats.

Pillar is currently writing new songs for a solo album to be released in 2007. Among the collaborators she's working with are the legendary Mike Reid, Nathan East, BeBe Winans, Allen Shamblin and Chris Eaton.
