www.puntademitafoundation.org Enhancing The Quality Of Life In The Greater Punta De Mita Region

The Punta de Mita Foundation is busy getting ready for the return of high season in Bahia de Banderas.  Our projects are in full swing and we are excited to be planning our fund raising events for 2009.

Smart Growth Report

The Centro Universitario de la Costa has completed the first two stages of the Smart Growth Report and is underway with the second round of interviews with townspeople and government regarding the development in the Punta de Mita region, the water treatment system, and the public works projects.  Please stay tuned for publication of this report in late November.

Education Committee

We are pleased to announce that we have almost completed the main phase of the construction of two new classrooms in the kinder school in Emiliano Zapata. The Parent-Teacher organization has done a great job in fund raising over one thousand dollars for the completion of the project.  We will be holding the inauguration party and the volunteer day on November 28th. Please bring your family and friends to participate.

Grantee makes bid on new Community Center

Punta de Mita Foundation's primary grantee, PEACE, has made a proposal to renovate the Ejido's Casa Campesina in Emiliano Zapata to use as a new cultural and community center for the town.  Funding for this project will come from grant money as well and on-going donations to PEACE.  This will be an important place for PEACE to carry out its educational and cultural programs, as well as provide the town with some community pride in cleaning up this excellent learning space. Please contact us if you are interested in supporting this worthwhile and much needed project.
REMINDERS

Please mark your calendars for our December 6th event at Hotel Des Artistes from 7 pm to 10 pm as well as the volunteer day in the schools on November 28th
