February, 2006
January has flown by and we find ourselves into a new month already. With four
ASM's recently sold to an operator in Fiji, the factory boys have certainly hit
the ground running this year.
What are YOU wanting from this year though? We hope you've had time to sit down
and write out some goals for 2006. Charles Noble says that you must have long
term goals to keep you from being frustrated by short-term failures. A wise man
indeed. As we plan our year here at Petersons, we would love to know what YOU
are wanting from us as well. If you have suggestions for how we can better serve
you, through our product lines, service, website etc, send Trudi an email and see what she can do for you.
In this month's "Cutting Comments" we announce the Bubbels champion for 2006,
Craig Blake releases his new website, and we give away free tickets to FI2006.
As always if you have any comments or feedback, send them through. We love hearing from you.
Happy milling,
from the team at Petersons.
FI2006 IS COMING, and we're giving away FREE tickets!
There are only five weeks to go before Forest Industries 2006, held on March
8-11 right here in Rotorua. It is the biggest forestry event on the Australasian
calendar, and draws visitors from Australia, North and South America, Asia, the
Pacific, and even Europe. This will be a fantastic opportunity to see leading
technology from major New Zealand brands, including a strong presence of wood
technology manufacturers.
We are giving away FREE TICKETS to the show if you get in early and register
with us before the 28th of February. Just email Darnielle the names of those wanting to attend, and she'll get you registered and ready
to go. If you're coming from afar, email Trudi also for great accommodation deals in Rotorua.
BUBBELS TOP SCORES - WE HAVE A WINNER
Last month we threw out the challenge for people to try and beat the CEO's, Chris
and Kerris, at a simple little game called Bubbels.
The first few times we played this we were excited when we got to 5,000 - then
we started seeing some of the scores other people were getting. And Chris' winning
score is still unbelievable.
We have officially closed the competition now, and Chris has been crowned Bubbel
King. Find out what the winning score was on the website, and also get some tips from runner-up Kerris on how you can get a great score
too.
NEW SWINGMILLS WEBSITE LAUNCHED
The site has been designed to cater to the needs of portable sawyers, and in
particular swing blade sawyers, offering one-stop shopping for all their needs
around the sawmill. Log handling, chainsaws, Kohler and Honda services, parts
and accessories, lubricants, safety gear - all are now available to purchase directly
online.
Peterson mills are also listed, and available parts and accessories will be included
in the near future, so customers can buy direct from the US.
PHOTO OF THE MONTH
We figured since no-one has been doing any milling and everyone had been playing
Bubbels that it was only appropriate that Chris' score make Photo of the Month
for February.

JOKE OF THE MONTH
Constantly complaining about the temperature
A customer was bothering the waiter in a restaurant. First, he asked that the
air conditioning be turned up because he was too hot, then he asked it be turned
down because he was too cold, and so on for about half an hour.
Surprisingly, the waiter was very patient, and he walked back and forth and never
once got angry. So finally, a second customer asked him why he didn't throw out
the pest.
"Oh, I really don't mind," said the waiter with a smile. "We don't have an air
conditioner!"
