SEIFC Announces CORE Facilitators for 2008 Leadership Academy

 

 

The Southeastern Interfraternity Conference is pleased to announce its facilitator lineup for the CORE (Council Officer Roundtables and Education) program at the 2008 Leadership Academy, being held February 14-17 2008 at the Westin Perimeter North Atlanta.

 

The CORE Program features curriculum revolving around learning outcomes established for council presidents, vice presidents, judicial directors, recruitment directors and treasurers.  Click here for an overview of the CORE program.

Presidents - Jason Waggoner
Director of Volunteer Development,
Beta Theta Pi

Jason Waggoner was appointed director of volunteer development for Beta Theta Pi in May of 2006. His responsibilities include facilitating the achievement of Beta Theta Pi’s strategic direction and providing direction for recruitment, training and accreditation for Beta Theta Pi’s volunteer teams.  An experieced leadershp facilitator, in 2007 Jason served as a lead facilitator for Beta Theta Pi's Wooden Institute for Men of Principle. Waggoner is a former chapter president and new member educator for his Beta Theta Pi chapter at Truman State University.

 

 

 

 


Vice Presidents - Wynn Smiley
Executive Director, Alpha Tau Omega

 

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Wynn worked as a journalist in several radio and television stations including the CBS affiliate for Central Illinois, earning both Associated Press and United Press International awards for his reporting.  In 1989 Wynn founded a company, Advisory, Inc., which focused on using technology to deliver living skills to college students.  One of Advisory’s early clients was LeaderShape, which led to another client, Alpha Tau Omega. In early 1991, ATO asked Wynn to join staff and bring multi-media to the fraternity communication’s effort.  Six years later, Wynn was asked by the ATO Board of Directors to become Executive Director and then Chief Executive Officer.


Judicial Directors - Paul Kittle
Director of Greek Life, Auburn University

 

Paul Kittle serves as the Director of Greek Life at Auburn University. Prior to Auburn, he worked at Clemson University as the Associate Director for Greek Life. He has worked in Greek Life since 1994 and holds a masters degree in business administration.  He is a member of the Phi Mu Delta fraternity, and has served as the national president since 2006. Prior to president, he served as the Vice President for 4 years.  He has served as a facilitator for Beta Theta Pi's Wooden Institute for Men of Principle, UIFI and currently serves on the AFA Assessment Committee.

 

 

 

 


Treasurers - Greg Singleton
Dean of Students, Austin Peay State University 

 

Gregory R. Singleton currently serves as the Dean of Students at Austin Peay State University, and has 21 years of experience in higher education working professionally with fraternities and sororities. A member of Kappa Alpha Order, Greg has served on his fraternity headquarters staff as an Educational and Leadership Consultant, a former Deputy Province Commander for KA, and continues to serve the fraternity nationally as the current National Scholarship Officer.

 

Having served on the SEIFC Executive Board for a total of 15 years, Greg served as the Assistant Executive Director from 1998-2000 and the SEIFC Executive Director from 2000-2006, and is a former recipient of both the SEIFC and SEPC Outstanding Greek Advisor Awards. Greg holds membership in the Association of Student Judicial Affairs (ASJA), the Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and is a member of the Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA), having served on the Board of Directors of AFA for seven years, including a term as National President.



Presidents - Larry Wiese

Executive Director, Kappa Alpha Order

 

Larry was initiated into Kappa Alpha Order at Midwestern State University by the Gamma Omega Chapter on January 23, 1987.  After serving in a variety of roles,  he was named the fraternity's Executive Director on February 15, 1996. 

 

Larry served as a member of the Board of Directors for FIPG, Inc., the leading Greek risk management association, from 1998 until 2004,and was elected President in 2000, serving for two terms.  He served as a vice chair for the Non-Profit Organizations Committee of the Torts and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association for five years.  He is active with the Virginia State Bar and a past president and board member of the Lexington Downtown Development Association.  He speaks regularly on the subject of risk management to various audiences nationwide and is a member of the Fraternity Executives Association and the American Society of Association Executives.


Vice Presidents - Meghan Ward-Bopp
Director of Member Services, North American Interfraternity Conference

 

Meghan Ward-Bopp is the Director of Member Services for the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), the trade association representing 71 men’s fraternal organizations. She is a graduate from Ball State University where she earned her degree in journalism and political science. She is an alumnus of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and an experienced facilitator, mentor, and advocate for the men’s fraternal community.

 

 

 


Judicial Directors - Jeremy Inabinet
Director of Judicial Affairs, Loyola University Chicago

Jeremy currently serves as the Director of Judicial Affairs at Loyola University Chicago.  He was initiated as a brother of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity in 1997 while attending Lander University.  After graduating with a BA in Mass Communications and Theatre, Jeremy served as a leadership consultant for Pi Kappa Phi before starting graduate school at the University of South Carolina.  In 2004 he graduated from USC with a M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs.  As an active member of the Association for Student Judicial Affairs, Jeremy has presented at numerous conferences and taught an online class on the topics of peer to peer accountability, judicial board design and implementation, and judicial board training.  Jeremy is a trained mediator and a part-time faculty member, teaching public speaking and critical thinking.
