Tickets Available for Jimmy Gentry Movie Premier
"An American Adventure-The Living Legacy of Jimmy Gentry," a documentary film on the life and times of Franklin's own Jimmy Gentry, will premier Friday, February 15, and Saturday, February 16, at 7:00pm each evening at Fourth Avenue Church of Christ in downtown. Tickets are only $10 each with all proceeds benefiting the Save The Franklin Theatre campaign. Coach Jimmy Gentry is larger than life, both on and off the football field. He has had an incredible journey. This film documents the story of a young man going off to war, his experiences in that war and the legacy he came back home to create here in Franklin. This is something you won't want to miss! Tickets are available at the Heritage Foundation located at the back door of Five Points Post Office, the Williamson County Visitors Center on East Main Street, Battle Ground Academy, Brentwood Academy and all Williamson County Recreation Centers. Tickets are also available on line at www.historicfranklin.com with a $2 handling charge.

Planning Commission for Tonight
Rezonings and Rezonings/Concept Plans

1.    Ordinance to rezone 29.95 acres from Low Residential (LR) to Planned Residential (PR) and approve the concept plan for Barclay Place, located south of Willow Springs Boulevard between Horton Lane and Downs Boulevard (the Tywater Property). Staff recommends approval with conditions. This plan is different from the plan that was initially submitted and discussed at the neighborhood meeting, primarily because of conflicting street standards.
2.    Ordinance to rezone .48 acres from High Residential (HR) to Planned Residential (PR 4.08) and approve the concept plan for 1404 Columbia Avenue. Staff recommends approval of two single-family residences on this property.
Site Plans, Conservation Design Plans, Preliminary Plats and Final Plats
1.    Alexander Plaza subdivision, site plan for a new Kroger on 8.89 acres located at 1203 Murfreesboro Road. Staff recommends approval with conditions.

4.    Franklin Crest PUD subdivision, site plan for 14 buildings with a total of 428 apartments on 39.85 acres located at McEwen Drive and Carothers Parkway. Staff recommends postponement to February to address deficiencies in the application.
5.    Glen Echo conservation design plan, 52 lots on 86.23 acres located at the termini of Echo Lane and Alpine Drive. Staff recommends approval with conditions.

Transportation Summit Rescheduled
The Transportation Summit originally scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed to Friday, March 7, beginning at 8:00am at City Hall. We are trying to include legislators and state agency officials making it somewhat difficult to merge everyone's schedules. I will provide more details when they are finalized.

Streetscape Meeting Tuesday 1/29
The Downtown Corridors and Connector Streets Economic Development Committee, commonly know as Streetscape, will reconvene next Tuesday, January 29, at 5:00pm in the city hall boardroom. The mayor has asked that this steering committee come back together for an update on the status of this 20-year program and to begin discussions on how to fund these necessary roadway improvement projects.

BOMA Work Session on Water Tuesday 1/29
Following the Streetscape meeting, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet for a work session to begin evaluating our city's drinking water supply. We have just received a revised permit from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation that changes the levels of withdrawal from the Harpeth River, different from what we received in November.

Purchase Historic Franklin License Plate Online
I have been told that by next week you should be able to go to www.franklinplate.com and buy Historic Franklin license plates online with a credit card! Part of the price for these plates will go to support the ongoing efforts of Franklin Tomorrow, the citizen advocacy group that developed a comprehensive vision plan for our city. Please support this worthy cause and proudly display a license plate representative of our community values.
