Five Tips for Finding Highly Qualified Candidates
Here are five ways to make finding qualified candidates easier:
1. Use your own employees. While it’s a bit more challenging for executive positions, your current executive staff (and potentially other employees, also) network and may know of other executive-level candidates that could be interested in your position. When appropriate, make sure your current employees are aware of open positions.
2. Use alumni. Utilize alumni organizations to network at events or advertise positions in alumni newsletters.
3. Keep track of old candidates. For those candidates that were highly qualified, but just didn’t work out for other positions, make sure to maintain contact with them. Include them on personal emails about new positions at the organization, or make a phone call to inquire about their current career situation.
