Gourds

Check Out the Many New Sights To See at the Arboretum This Summer

While visiting the Arboretum this summer (perhaps in the evening) don't miss some of our new attractions. Here's a brief recap:

Heritage House Herb Garden

A semi-formal herb garden in a sundial design greets visitors to the Clark House. Over 3,000 herbs were planted around the house and community garden.

Gourd Tunnel

Beyond the Children’s Garden is a bamboo (harvested here at the Arboretum) frame covered with gourds.  Walk through the tunnel and marvel at the variety of shapes and sizes.

The New Mojave Exhibit

Chaparral Society funds have provided the foundation for this new plant collection.  The granite and gneiss boulders (some weigh up to 16 tons) were brought to the Arboretum from the Mojave Desert.  Planting will begin this autumn.

The Pumpkin Patch

More than 30 varieties of pumpkins, gourds and squashes have been planted on the east side of the Arboretum.  This amazing garden changes on a daily basis!

CSA Program Now Available at Fullerton Arboretum

CSA—that’s Community Supported Agriculture—is a partnership between a local organic farm and a community of supporters that together wish to preserve the agricultural life and heritage of their community in an environmentally sound manner, and have a commitment to delicious and healthy food.

We are a member of this fine partnership and food baskets can be conveniently picked up at the Arboretum on specified dates. We encourage you to read the information contained in the links below for more information on this important program.
