If you can't get to the Rivera this summer, try visiting these cool spots.

Yes tomatoes, those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer are here.   These are the days we were dreaming of last winter when we were trudging through the City in a foot of snow in our Uggs, shivering even while wearing our politically incorrect fur coats, and warming up with cognac. (Hey, at our ages, cognac is the best we can do.)  So what are we doing now?  Hanging out in our air-conditioned abodes or offices, complaining about the heat and waiting for the weekend to get out of the City. We whine so much that there are days when we can’t even stand ourselves!  So, to take your mind off the heat and humidity, The Three Tomatoes suggest these five cool places to visit online, right there in the comfort of your air-conditioned room.

1.      Lord and Taylor coupons delivered to your inbox:  Go to www.lordandtaylor.com and sign up to get their coupons and sales notices via email.   We love this store and the one on Fifth Avenue at 39th Street in Manhattan is the best!  It now rivals Saks and Bloomingdales and is light years ahead of Macy’s any day.

2.      Customized U.S. Postage Stamps from  Stamps.com.  Looking for a really unique (and inexpensive) gift? This is the place.  PhotoStamps are an exciting new product that lets you take your own photographs and turn them into real U.S. postage! To create PhotoStamps all you need to do is upload a photo, customize it using their fun, easy-to-use interface, then place your order. It's that simple.

3.      Restaurants.com - A guide to restaurants around the world and a great place to buy  gift certificates and get discounts for restaurants just about anywhere.

4.      Redecorating?   Benjamin Moore has a terrific web site that let’s you upload photos of any room or house you want to paint and then play around with all their colors.   Sure beats the “but it didn’t look like that on the chart”, or the total redo.

5.      If you love antique jewelry  you’ll love The Antique Jewelry Mall with hundreds of  beautiful pieces of antique and estate jewelry from the Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Mid-Century Retro Moderne, and contemporary periods
