I planned to make this Tipsheet a big 2007 Year End Review;
but then realized I can’t remember what I did yesterday, let alone an entire year!
So, instead, here are a few Miscellaneous Musings and a bit of advice for the New
Year:
****Warren Buffett, the third-richest man in the world, is in the 17% tax bracket.
His secretary, who makes $60,000 a year, is in the 28% tax bracket.
What I’d like to know is: why does the
third richest man in the world only pay his secretary $60,000?!
****Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they’re there.
****If you want to make a dog deliriously happy, scratch its chest.
**** Your success is greatly
impacted by your environment. Think about
it:
If your
pet fish is sick, you treat the water, not the fish!
So, as we begin a new year, here’s a little advice:
Take a good look at your immediate environment and ask yourself,
"Do my surroundings move me CLOSER to my goals or
do they move me farther AWAY?" And then make some changes.
***If you want to lose
weight, lose the candy dish and get rid of any foods in your house or office that end in the letter
“O:” Chee-tos, Doritos, Ho-Hos, Oreos, Fritos…you get the idea!
***If you want to meet other single
people, put yourself where other single people gather: the library, golf course
or practice tee, art galleries, sporting events, your church, the park (take a dog, even if you have to borrow your neighbors) concerts and
bookstores.
***If you want to get out of
debt or save more money, remove "spending temptations" from your
environment: stay away from the malls, toss those shiny catalogues in the recycling bin and don't even go near
Ebay!
***(IF you want your attendees to
say, "This was the BEST conference I ever attended!" have Susan
present a keynote or break-out. Click here
to check her availability in 2008 )
***If you want more energy, de-clutter your office and
home. Don’t let the New Year begin with last year’s unfinished business piled up on your desk.
Make a clean start!
Note to parents: Your kids are like
sponges. Take a close look at their environment, especially the people they're
around the most, and see who or what they're "soaking up!"
In honor of hubby Steve’s 60th birthday….. You know
you’re a Senior Citizen:
When “getting a little action" means you don't need to take any fiber today.
