"67 Women
- 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania"™
This educational art exhibit, funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, is the PBCC's most widely-received
program and it is still going strong! The recent opening at the Lycoming Mall in August marked the 81st exhibit opening around the
state!
In each of the 43 counties the exhibit has visited, the PBCC worked closely with the host organization to put together an exhibit
committee. "67 Women - 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania"™ brings together community leaders, creating and strengthening
partnerships.
The exhibit premieres in each community for ten days in a public setting such as a mall or hospital to allow for maximum
exposure. Thousands of Pennsylvanians witness first-hand the exhibit's powerful message of courage, hope and dignity and hundreds of thousands
more are reached through the extensive media coverage generated by the exhibit openings.
"67 Women - 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in
Pennsylvania"™ will be on display October 26 - November 5 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, and from November 30 -
December 10 at Elk Regional Health Center ~ St. Marys, Elk County.
Click to learn more about bringing the exhibit to your community. Please note that due to the many ongoing requests we receive,
there is a waiting list for the exhibit.
She Said Yes!

Steven Law, a First Lieutenant in the Air Force, popped the question to PBCC staffer Amy Collins on August
20. And she said yes! A July 2007 wedding is planned. Congratulations and best wishes to Amy and Steve!
In other
personnel news, PBCC intern Sarah Lightman has returned to Elizabethtown College. We will certainly miss her around here! Good luck at
school, Sarah!

Sonic Drive-In and Scrapple Scramble Fundraisers

On August 8, the Sonic Drive-In of Ephrata held a Cruiser Night and fundraiser for the PBCC. The parking lot
was adorned with beautiful classic cars and 10% of the night's proceeds was donated to the PBCC. A total of $431.82 was raised that
evening. Thanks to Sonic and all the car enthusiasts who attended!
Another recent fundraiser was the 17th Annual Scrapple
Scramble golf tournament, hosted by Steve Polanskey and Mark Zeswitz. This event is an annual get-together of friends who enjoy playing
golf and having fun, though not necessarily in that order! They raised $1692 on June 18, including $450 from one prizewinner, Larry
Kreider, who donated his total winnings to the cause. I think Mark's letter says it best: "Where there is hope, there
is a way. Please accept this donation and direct this small, but mighty donation towards the fight against breast
cancer." Thanks to Mark, Steve, Larry and all the golfers!

The Women in Pennsylvania Government Relations hit a hole in one with their August benefit golf
tournament! They raised $10,000 for the PBCC, including a generous donation of $3000 from Sunoco, Inc. Our deepest thanks go to all the
participants of this successful event!

What a fun and unique way to raise funds!)
