Hope is right in front of you

Marcy has been in lots of pain for several weeks. Plasmapheresis went well the week of 10/22. Marcy felt better for 7 to 10 days after the treatment but then slid back into the same feelings. It has been frustrating that doctors haven't allowed more treatments - it is not approved for her diagnosis.

She has also had some blood thinness issues that may have been caused by an essential oil we have been using. See our 11/17 post for more.

And we had a little scare with her feeding tube looking like it was coming out. Our GI even came to the house to do the procedure. See 11/30 post.

Sorry we are a little overdue for this update, my computer hard drive crashed. It was the first time in my 30+ years of computing, so I guess I was due. After Mac Authority tried and failed to recover data, Troy came down from Cincinnati last weekend, restored everything, and set me up to automatically back up data every night. It feels weird when your son knows more than you do.

We are blessed to have over 12,000 signatures on our Extreme Makeover: Home Edition petition now.

We had a little boost in excitement when a new board member at Happy Tales moved here after working for Disney for 9 years and heard EMHE was looking for a family to help that had a pet connection. She sent emails to friends at Disney and ABC to make sure we were at least being considered. But a few weeks after that an episode aired that featured a family that rescued animals and we think that may have been "our" show. We are still asking for and still receive signatures.

We are almost ready for Christmas. We put our decorations up before Thanksgiving so Marcy's sister Laura and her family could see them when they came to visit.

Darcy and her friend Jo made a gingerbread house.

This has become a Christmas tradition for us.

A Brownie troop led by friends (Kathy, Jenny, and Kim) adopted us as their community project and they came to visit and give us a gift.

The Nashville Ballet comped us tickets for the Nutcracker again this year and we plan to go Saturday. Matt is joining us for the first time ever and is bringing Paige You will want to check the daily updates to see how that went.

Flowers for Marcy is still a blessing. Many people, when first learning of us, buy a flower, but only a few buy a new flower each month.

We (FlowersforMarcy.com) are featured in the current issue of Southern Exposure Magazine thanks to our friends at Alday Communications.

You can read the article and see the pictures by clicking here.

Matt is home from college for the holidays. He still seems to like school and comes home less frequently - every second or third week. His girlfriend Paige has been hanging out with Darcy even while Matt is gone. Darcy & Paige have baked cookies together and gone shopping. We have no pictures of them baking together, or pictures of cookies, because they have been doing it at Paige's house and not bringing any home!

There are still some dinner openings in December - and January is wide open. Click here to see the schedule and click here if you can bring dinner for us.

We still believe and thank God for your prayer and care.

Love.
