Hello Tomboys,
It’s barely been a month since I’ve been back and I am just SO JAZZED
about all that’s going on and what lies ahead. I’ve thrown this out to the others at Corporate and I’m
throwing it out to you…get your running shoes on and lace them up tight because 2007 is going to be one speedy year! An old
wise business man named Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re
right.” Napoleon Hill wrote in, Think and Grow Rich that whatever you think about you bring
about. So, what do your dreams look like? Write them down, make a picture poster of those dreams and then get
focused—they’re waiting for you.
I’d like to challenge you to do that really big step—owning your
dreams. Then I challenge you to find a running buddy…someone that you can share with and will be cheering you
on. Ideally, your buddy will be a fellow Tomboy, whether in your team or in another state—even across the country, maybe
you’ve never even met. It doesn’t matter, because you’re going to work together, holding each other
accountable for what the goal is, go through the ups and downs of the year and in the end, celebrate your successes!
I received a newsletter this week from my chiropractor and in it was a story about the movie
Dodgeball. I haven’t seen it yet but it is now on my “must see” list. It’s
a comedy but there’s one part that is very motivating. The hero (Vince Vaughn) has led his team to the finals of the world
championship of dodge ball. But, due to some stupid personal problems he’s going to skip out on his team and not show up
for the final game. So, he’s at the airport having a drink before his flight leaves and Lance Armstrong walks up to him and
tells him he’s a big fan and has been watching the tournament. Vince’s character tells Lance he is not going to play
in the final…
Lance says…”I thought about quitting when I was diagnosed with testicular,
prostate and brain cancer all at the same time. But with the love and support of my family, I got back on my bike and won the Tour
De France five times. But I guess you have a good reason to quit. I guess if people didn’t quit when the
going got tough, they wouldn’t have anything to regret for the rest of their lives…” WOW, blew me away when I
read it.!!!
So, get yourself a pair of running shoes, lace them up tight. Set yourself
the goal of making your dreams happen, and like Nike says…JUST DO IT!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
