Hello

Websites can be accessed by anyone, at anytime, in any part of the world, so long as they are connected to the Internet.

Recent Internet World Statistics show that more people are 'logging on' every year, with 20% of the world's population now using the World Wide Web to chat with friends, research for work or school, to browse or purchase products, services online.

That is why most small businesses these days have some kind of web presence, be it a web site with hundreds of pages (like the comprehensive Peterson web site), or a one page business profile.

Over the past month, we have been collating web addresses from some of our many Peterson mill owners, who operate businesses as well as their sawmills! There could be someone in your area of the world who makes furniture, sells lumber cut from their Peterson sawmill or is available for custom milling. For a directory of our owner's web sites click here.

If you own a business, and don't have a website, perhaps it's time to look into having one built. The best place to start your search for a web designer is your local yellow pages. There's nothing better than being able to sit down next to an actual person while you plan your business's electronic future.

For now, I'll leave you with a quote from the man who changed how the world communicates, Bill Gates, from his essay, 'Shaping the Internet Age.'

"For businesses, the Internet breaks down logistical barriers, offering greater flexibility and power in the way they do business. It shrinks time and distance, simplifies complex business processes, and enables more effective communication and collaboration."

We hope you enjoy this issue of 'Cutting Comments', we'll see you again in June!

Article: Timbersports Competitor Partners with Portable Sawmill Manufacture . . .

Peterson Portable Sawmills have recently joined forces with a rising star of the Stihl Timbersports Series, Nathan Waterfield.

Nathan was born and raised in Warren, Pennsylvania where 100 years ago logging, sawmilling and wood processing was a major industry. Now the area is a mixed market of oil and natural gas, dairy farming, and forestry.

As a child, Nathan enjoyed sports and played American Football, Wrestling and Track and Field but most often he spent time in the outdoors with his grandfather, Lee Rubright. Read more!
