Undo Sun Damage From the Past
Our Jessner/Efudex dermapeel is a painless facial
treatment that makes your skin instantly prettier, softer and smoother. Fine crystals are lightly sprayed onto your face, then
gently vacuumed away, removing imperfections (including age spots and sun damage, along with acne, blackheads and fine wrinkles), leaving your skin
fresh and youthful. It’s quick and comfortable, with instant results and no healing time. The
Jessner / Efudex peel takes just 30 minutes … a series of six treatments, weekly or semi-weekly, is recommended. |
Not So Sunny News for Car
Poolers and Commuters …
A study from St. Louis University found
skin cancers on the left side of the body (arms and hands, as well as the left side of the head and neck) in 53% of the 1047 people they
examined. Their conclusion: You need sunscreen, even if you’re not planning to get out of the car.
Also, the study provided clear evidence that the glass in your windshield is not an effective barrier against the damaging rays of the
sun. The glass filters 100% of UVA rays but just 20% of the UVB rays … and we now know that these, too, cause
cancer. Get the full story at medicinenet.com.
The lesson …
apply sunscreen. The FDA recently announced it seeks to change labeling guidelines for all sunscreens, providing specific
information on both UVA and UVB protection and also ranking SPF up to 50. The goal is to provide more complete protective
information for consumers … in the meantime, look for products that offer both UVA and UVB protection and an SPF rating of at least 30.

Research: New Strategies to
Protect Against Melanoma
BODY-DOUBLE SKIN
EXAMS … Researchers at Northwestern University taught couples how to conduct full body scans for one
another. Not only did couples who trained and committed to doing mutual skin checks actually perform the exams more often than
those who did them on their own, the study reported that twice as many skin cancers were identified and treated. Learn more at
