We recently held our 4^th Annual Convention here in Colorado.

The first day we offered hands on opportunity with all the tools and demonstrations in a similar setting as you would find at a tool party.

I want to share an experience from that day that sums up our company's mission.

One of our newer consultants was unsure of her skills in the demonstration area. 

She was a bit hesitant to try some of the tools and stated she had never done it before. I had the opportunity to show her how easy the caulking demonstration can be and she mastered it with ease on her first try!  She moved on to the nailer/compressor and was encouraged by others to give this a try as well. Again, she successfully managed the task at hand.

The environment we provided encouraged participation to help develop skills and build confidence.  This is exactly the intent of Tomboy Tools. We pass along knowledge and tools to our consultants who in turn pass the knowledge, tools and confidence on to their customers.  This was a great reminder to all of us who saw this woman's transformation in a matter of 15 minutes.  A little bit of information, getting the opportunity to try, turns into a great feeling of accomplishment!

Planning and building an Outdoor Planting and Work Table 

We've all been working outdoors this summer and enjoying the beautiful plants and flowers that we planted and tended to with our own hands.  Only one thing could make this a more pleasant experience in my opinion; that would be not having the aching back from all of the bending over and squatting that it takes to tend to our beautiful plants and flowers.  On that note, our project this month is to build the perfect height work table to create beautiful flower-scapes without the back pain that goes along with working over the wrong height work table.

So let's get to it.

Corporate Perspective

Here are the million $$ questions. 

• Does your part time job pay you $30 per hour?
• Can you set your own hours?
• Can you use your creativity to empower others?
• When was the last time your co-workers stood up
  and celebrated a great idea you shared?
• When was the last time your company loved your idea
  And implemented it?

If the truth were to be told, most of us simply survive our 8 hours. It would not be fair to say everyone simply survives, but truly most of us do not set our own hours, work with whomever we chose to work with, and we definitely cannot give ourselves a raise. If we want time off, we have to ask someone else's permission.  And on it goes.  Someone else seems to control our destiny. Do they really?
Perhaps all we need is another option?  Therein lies the appeal of a direct sales business. Here is a true statement:
