Presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have endorsed AFFIL's Six Principles of Fairness in Lending:
Responsibility, Justice,
Equality, Information, Accountability, and Law and Enforcement. Formulated collaboratively by the major national consumer advocacy
organizations, the Principles cover the basics of fair lending principles, reject predatory practices and support access to beneficial credit
products. Calls, emails and letters to Senator McCain have not been answered. Read the candidate statements here.

On January 29, Bari George joined Maxed Out director James Scurlock, photojournalist Brian Palmer, videographer Jack Riccobono and the campaign staff from Americans
for Fairness in
Lending for an afternoon on Wall Street. Amazingly, Wall Street brokers and workers seem to agree - the solution to the mortgage industry
crisis is to regulate the lending industry and outlaw predatory practices and toxic products. Watch the video here. AFFIL and Scurlock's Maxed
Out -
holding the #3 spot on NetFlix for many weeks - are largely responsible for increasing public understanding that the myriad messes in the credit and
lending industry are all related. Lack of regulation has created a scene from the Wild West and a plethora of toxic products. We
expect our government to protect us from poison in our food - why not from poisonous loans and abusive credit card policies? Learn more and take
action at AFFIL's web site. Order your own
copy of Maxed Out here.

For the past four years, we have contributed our services to LI2Day Breast Cancer Walk to help raise
awareness of this unusual two-day community event that takes place each June in Suffolk County, NY and has so far raised $1.4 million for the women,
men and families of Long Island who are currently fighting breast cancer. On Tuesday, March 11, we will unveil the 2008 Poster Project at the Sunrise Westfield Mall with a press conference attended by state,
county and local officials and the numerous beneficiary organizations. The event, with complimentary catering contributed by California Pizza Kitchen, will feature the unveiling of the nine-foot poster
enlargements created and donated by Duggal Visual Solutions of Manhattan.
For more information - and to register for the 35-mile walk - please visit www.li2daywalk.org.

LI2Day Poster Artist Amal Karzai is also the generous volunteer director of Art Supplies for Afghan
Children - http://www.artsac.org. Amal explains "Visual art is an integral part
of a child's education and painting and drawing are expressive
and therapeutic forms, especially for children who have experienced years of tragedy." Funds raised by Artsac buy brushes, paints and paper for
elementary school children of Kandahar in southern Afghanistan. Artsac is an all-volunteer organization - every dollar raised goes
directly
toward purchase of art supplies. You can find out more, view the children's art gallery, and contribute at www.artsac.org.

On a personal note, we wish to thank the community of Port Jefferson, NY for their incredible
generosity. When Bari's daughter traveled to Bolivia in January, she planned to use her baggage allowance to carry contributions of clothing
and toys to the children of the orphanage where she volunteered in 2006, and to which she was returning. A quick email to Port Jefferson
elementary school teacher Donna Conforti and a few friends yielded a bit more than expected. Four days, 27 boxes and 900 pounds of donations later,
Cybil arrived in La Paz with enough clothing and toys for 350 children in four locations of the Voces Libres orphanage. HUGE thanks to the
children and families of Port Jefferson and to American Airlines for shipping all of the cargo free of charge. Tie-dye artist Monica Reig was among
the dozens of generous helpers and contributors to the effort.
