Commission Recruitment -
The City
of Davis is now recruiting for the Finance & Budget Commission (one
alternate position available), Planning Commission (one regular
position available), and Business & Economic Development Commission
(one alternate position available).
By serving on a city commission, you can participate in planning the
future of Davis. Many of these commissions are making recommendations
that will greatly affect life in Davis. Downtown business owners or
employees who are residents of Davis interested in serving on these
commissions can go to the city's Web page, http://www.ci.davis.ca.us/cmo/commapp.cfm to download the information and application.
The filing deadline is Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 5 p.m.
Submitted applications are considered public information. For further

"Go Red for Women,"
is a nationwide campaign by the American Heart Association, that is
designed to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke among women.
On Friday February 2, hundreds of women in the greater Sacramento area
will wear red to work to help raise awareness for this campaign.
We ask that you wear red that day to work as well!

Brown Bag Lunch
- DDBA's Business Development Committee is hosting the third in a
series of informal Brown Bag lunches to allow the membership to talk
informally with various city officials.
The Brown Bag luncheon will be held on Wednesday, January 17, noon - 1
p.m. at the courtyard (if the weather is pleasant) or conference room
at Harrington Place, 430 D Street. Our guest this month is Davis
City Councilperson Lamar Heystek.
Please bring your lunch or purchase one at one of downtown's 70+ places
to eat. The luncheon is open to the public and attendees are invited to
ask questions of the councilperson Heystek in a casual setting.
It is not necessary to RSVP to attend.
