Columbia Avenue Resurfacing Begins 7/9
A pre-construction meeting occurred last week for the resurfacing of Columbia Avenue from the West Harpeth River to Battle Avenue, excluding the new intersection work at Parkway Commons. This is a TDOT project contracted to Lojac Enterprises, Inc. It is scheduled to begin on July 9 and last approximately 30 days. Work hours are weekdays 9 am to 4 pm. The Lojac construction manager has indicated that they may request night or weekend work. There will be lane shifts and lane closure delays during construction. I would highly recommend avoiding Columbia Avenue during this process if at all possible.

Zoning Ordinance Process

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen (minus McLendon and Kriebel) met with Interim Planning Director Jaime Groce on Tuesday to continue discussion of the new Zoning Ordinance. We actually concluded detailed review of the draft ordinance. We will have one more called meeting next month, most likely July 24, to review all of the recommended changes in a singular document. This will be followed by three readings at BOMA with the suggestion that a public hearing be scheduled as a special meeting for this purpose only to provide ample time for public input. Stay tuned.
