What's New at Car Talk Plaza?

A question, that's what. And here it is:

What would you like to see on the Car Talk web site?

That's right, we're throwing open the doors to ideas. No matter how wacko, we want to hear from you!

See, every few weeks, Tom, Ray and a few of us lackeys here at Car Talk Plaza kick around ideas for our lousy little web site over cappuccino.

This week, we realized we haven't heard from you guys in ages.  Other than via your hate mail, of course.

What feature, web application, service, or time-killing idea do you feel is missing from cartalk.com? (Sorry, Jim in Boise, that "Tom and Ray as living piñatas" concept was nixed by OSHA, though wholeheartedly endorsed by NPR.)

We want to hear from you!

You can share your ideas in the Car Talk Community, right here.

We'll be reading the suggestions regularly, and even chiming in with our own comments from time to time. Hope to see you there.

Not that you'd know it from looking at Tommy's car, but right down the street from Car Talk Plaza is one of the state's top automotive detailers.

Whenever we have some sort of "industrial accident" in one of our test cars, we hop it over to Greg to have the [Pterodactyl poop/Bichon Friese fur/wet concrete/lobster fra diavolo] removed. Given what a spectacular job he always does, we decided to ask Greg to share some tips with you for getting your car looking like new. The result? A collection of great hints and tips for making your personal superfund-site-on-wheels look brand-spanking-new.

We hope it helps the next time you spill a gallon of liquid compost in between the back seats.

Safety News Flash

We've just added a new section to our Safe Driving Zone: Safety News.

We'll post recalls, new crash test news and other important auto safety news, as soon as we know about it. Drop by, check it out -- and maybe you'll spare yourself a trip to your local plaster of Paris, body-cast builder. You never know.

Today's Letter to Car Talk

Ever have a grim odor you couldn't erase from the insides of your car-- say, even after you removed the body? That's today's newspaper column on the Car Talk web site.  You can check it out right here.  You can also subscribe to an RSS feed, so you'll be alerted when a new column has been posted. Or, just swing by every couple of days, to see the new letter to Tom and Ray -- and their non-bogus (we hope) answer.

That's all for now. Now it's your turn! What's your idea for the Car Talk web site? We'll be waiting in the Car Talk community -- drop by.

Yours in Killing Time,

That's right. Now we're polluting iPods, too. Subscribe to our free Car Talk Call of the Week podcast. Plus, download Car Talk archives, read reviews, search shows and post your comments. Here's how.

Email Tom and Ray

Write Tom and Ray - Please!

Been meaning to write us a witty, brilliant, evocative, insightful letter? Excellent! We're not getting any of those things from the chumps hanging around Car Talk Plaza. For that matter, we'd settle for anything better than the usual schlock Tommy reads on the air.

Write Tom and Ray now!

Help Ray lose the night sweats he's been getting, trying to come up with a decent puzzler each week. Email him your suggestion any time.
