Fort Worth, Texas (January 31, 2008) "Alice," an original jukebox musical written by two Fort Worth Paschal
High School students, opens February 14 at the school and runs through February 23.
Based loosely on Lewis Carroll's works, including "Alice in Wonderland," the musical is a fundraiser to help send
the school's theatre troupe, The Vagabond Players, to the Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland in August 2008.
The Vagabond Players have raised over one half of the funds needed to send them to the world-class
performing arts festival in Scotland. Recent donations from Edward P. Bass and a challenge from the Morton H. Meyerson Family
Tzedakah Fund in Dallas are helping them get closer to their goal of $70,000.00.
Co-authored by two senior students, Matt Slayter and Lizzie Boures, the show is set in the present day and takes
a satirical look at life for "Alice" in a typical high school.
Matt Slayter, who plans to attend either Texas Christian University or New York University in the fall
said,"Watching something that you created take life on the stage is one of the strangest and most exhilarating experiences in the world. It is so
exciting to see a story transfer from your brain, to paper, and then to watch it take shape on the stage."
Tickets for the show may be purchased at the door at 3001 Forest Park Boulevard, Fort Worth. Adults are $8.00 and
Students $5.00. Online donations to help send the students to Scotland is: www.phsvagabonds.com
