County News!
Jami Kaiser, Marathon County director reports that the first thinkmarriage class held in Marathon County was met with great enthusiasm! A group of five couples gathered to
attend the first of “10 Great Dates to Energize your Marriage” at a local restaurant. It was well received by the group
that consisted of couples with young children. All of the couples knew one another, and comments were made on how nice it was to get together
with a group of friends and do something constructive and positive for their marriage.
Another class, Marriage Links, will be starting in Marathon County in April at a coffee shop. Visit the thinkmarriage.org class calendar and click on Marathon County to get complete details.
thinkmarriage is also involved in a domestic
violence awareness campaign focused on the Hmong community in Marathon County. A DVD was sent to every Hmong family in the county explaining
the legal and social ramifications of domestic violence and offering local resources. thinkmarriage was listed as a resource for strengthening marriage. Jami is hopeful that this will lead to future name
recognition, as well as the addition of a bilingual facilitator down the road.
Kristina Erdmann our Waukesha County Director participated in the Mrs. Wisconsin Pageant this past weekend. Although she did
not win the title of Mrs. Wisconsin, she did win the People's Choice Award! Congratulations Kristina...she's definately our choice! As the reigning
Mrs. New Berlin, she will continue to use this platform to speak about thinkmarriage.
Remember! There are classes in all six of our key counties, so don’t forget to check the
class
calendar on our website, regularly.
