Our company, and the Consultants associated with it, is crossing the threshold of the most significant financial opportunity in three generations. We stand in that rarest of moments when all things come together in a giant confluence of both timing and preparation that will carry us collectively to unknown heights of prosperity. 

 

 

At a time when the television anchor tells you General Motors sales were down 45% last month, I'm here to report our October sales were up 25% over September. When the USAToday website reports Circuit City is closing 155 stores, I'm thrilled to say this October we welcomed new consultants at a rate 50% faster than last October. 

 

 

How can this be possible? Aren't all businesses failing, laying people off and losing money? No, that's the perception, but not the reality of American business. What about consumer spending? Aren't people cutting back? Sure they are on some things, but not with us. We've seen our average party revenue actually increase this year to record levels. Unfortunately when the media creates an atmosphere of uncertainty in our lives, it can lead to self doubt. Once someone attends a party they understand the truth. Like the old saying goes, "They have walked through the doors of perception, down the corridors of uncertainty into the room of self doubt, only to open the window of opportunity." That describes our party experience. A new host may reluctantly book a party uncertain of her potential attendance, only to be surprised at the turnout and amazed at the sales. Suddenly she decides to become a Consultant because the window of opportunity opens wide before her eyes in her very own living room. We need to project that same reality to potential hosts that may be friends or family and have yet to attend a party. They need to be assured that people will attend and purchase products; that our way of doing business is better than ever before. They need to understand that they are doing their friends a favor by allowing them a chance to host a party and earn free products. I've always said, I'd rather have someone book a party rather than purchase products from me.

 

 

I've also always believed that when you have absolute conviction about the value of what you have to offer, you have positive posture, you know what you have and it's reflected in your demeanor. Nothing can take the place of that, and nothing works very well without it. Imagine with me for a moment being so passionate about our products and business opportunity that before every conversation you say to yourself, "I am offering nothing less than a million dollar opportunity to this person. Boy, is she lucky!" and then leaving each conversation saying this to yourself, "OK, who's next to get this offer of a lifetime?" You couldn't help but be successful with this attitude! Learn to believe that virtually everyone is a possible host or Consultant. Ask yourself - if everyone you know knew what you know, wouldn't they be likely to want to be involved? Absolutely.



From history we also know that the companies who demonstrate the most growth and ring up the most sales in times like these are those who promote heavily and don't cut back the investment in their business. Every recession including the Great Depression offers classic examples of the power of promotion even during times of economic crisis. 

 

 

What did your company do in August? At a time when every one of our competitors began pulling back on incentives, we offered to buy our Consultants gas and give away iPhones and laptop computers. When other companies continued on with their ineffective host promotions, we began to offer free products and a better value proposition for our hosts. When others retreated in fear, we charged forward with faith and courage because that's what we do - we're Americans, and we also believe wholeheartedly in what we have to offer. Now is not the time to pull back, but to forge forward.

 

 

Today our young company is leading an entire direct selling industry to a renaissance of growth and prosperity. In August we foresaw the coming economic storm and invented the only party-plan business model designed to work in a turbulent economy. Now we stand out as the one opportunity that really works well today. In a few weeks we'll reveal a second phase of our plan to help you become even more successful as a retailer or business builder or both. Until then, here are a few initiatives we can share with you today. 

  1. We will introduce 40 new products with the January catalog. Half of them will be made in the United States. The average retail will be only $22.81 as we strive to galvanize our reputation as a value driven company. That's what your customers want and we'll deliver.

  2. We are opening up our car program immediately to Ford, General Motors and Chrysler products. We can't stand by and watch our friends lose their jobs. We will make every effort to support American manufacturing.

  3. We will advertise our opportunity in both Good Housekeeping and "O" Oprah magazines this spring. The first two ads alone are valued at over $500,000.

  4. We will continue to bring better specials to our hosts and customers, making the opportunity to host and attend our parties an irresistible experience.

  5. We will be changing our name to Entertaining at Home. Because that's who we are and what we do.


Finally, we will give you our best effort everyday. When you join Taste of Home Entertaining we want you to feel like you've joined a family.
