What's Tommy up to now?
Unveiling Magliozzis' Used Vehicle
Emporium?
Welcoming you to his interactive
still-life exhibit, "Thy Name Is Rust"?
You tell us! It's our latest caption contest,
and it's up now, on
the Car Talk web site.
Brace yourself for some bad news: winter's not over. At least, not quite yet. Bugsy just saw his
shadow, so we're all getting ready for six more weeks of ice and snow.
Fortunately, having plied our esteemed hosts with a few extra cappuccinos, we've
cajoled them into updating our popular Car Talk
Winter
Driving Tips.If you run the risk of crossing paths with a little snow or ice between now and
April, take a moment to peruse our 18 tips for safe winter driving. A few minutes well-spent might just keep you from weeks of scurvy, scrounging for
food between the car seats, and wondering when that state plow is going to finally loom large in your rear-view mirror.
Here's something scary: you can write a
review of our show.
That's right. In fact, now you can do it right from our homepage, each and
every
week. Read reviews of this week's show, share comments
with our
other detractors, and check out classic episodes you might want to consider tossing onto your iPod.
Got a few more minutes to kill? Great! Join our top discussions, going on now in the Car Talk Community:
- What's the best, reliable, easy-to-work on sports car?
-
Is coasting with the engine off a bad idea?
- If you live someplace chilly, which is better for your car: a toasty-warm
garage, or the chilly
out-of-doors?
Got to go. Tommy just knocked over the "Wall of Rusted Transmissions" still
life. Anyone got an excavator handy?

P.S. Here's this week's Lame Joke of the Week, from David
Coppin:
A man consulted his physician distressed by the sound "Honda" every time he passed flatus.
Unable to find the cause, his doctor sent him to a
Japanese gastroenterologist who promptly made the diagnosis of an intra-abdominal abscess.
Surgery corrected the problem, and the family doctor asked his Japanese colleague how he had made the diagnosis so easily. The
gastroenterologist replied, "It was really very obvious, as everyone knows, 'Abscess makes the fart go Honda.'"
Remember, it's supposed to be lame.

Write Tom and Ray - Please!
Been
meaning to write us a witty,
brilliant, evocative, insightful letter? Excellent! We're not getting
any of those things from the chumps hanging around Car Talk Plaza. For
that
matter, we'd settle for anything better than the usual schlock Tommy
reads on the air.
