Study suggests brain tumors need treatment with multiple 'targeted' drugs
Researchers at Dana-Farber have shown that several, rather than just one, cell-growth switches are simultaneously overactive in many brain tumors and other solid tumors, explaining why treatment with just a single "targeted" switch-blocking drug often yields disappointing results.

New satellite center in Milford nears completion
Cancer patients in the Milford, Mass., area, 35 miles southwest of Boston, will soon be able to receive state-of-the-art care closer to home. Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center at Milford Regional Medical Center is scheduled for completion in early November, only a year after breaking ground.

Appointment required
The New England Patriots continue their efforts to increase awareness of the importance of blood donation with a fall blood drive. Donors will be entered into a raffle to win Patriots prizes. Appointments are required and will be scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. To be eligible to donate you must be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. For details and appointments, call (617) 732-6286. Blood donations collected will benefit patients treated at Dana-Farber, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Children's Hospital Boston.
