World class jazz guitarist Larry Carlton offers two benefit concerts

LEIPER'S FORK, TN, November 13, 2006 -- Multi Grammy recipients, Larry Carlton and Michele Pillar, will play two benefit performances for the 6th Annual Closer To Home Benefit in Leiper's Fork at Green's Grocery Thursday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. Michele Pillar is the Founder and President of Closer To Home.

Closer To Home meets emergency needs through applications received via other agencies including Mercy Children's Clinic, the Juvenile Court system in Williamson County and Williamson Medical Center. It has become one of Williamson County's most beloved charities; a neighbor helping, neighbor, no red tape, low-overhead non-profit.

"We meet those small needs that are great to the recipient," explains Michele Piilar. "Whether it's a single mother needing tuition money or a child for whom there will be no Christmas."

Closer To Home has added a second show this year. "We are getting more requests for help and we want to meet those needs," shares Pillar. "It feels good to help hard working people who need quick assistance. And we are thrilled that local businesses are giving us the thumbs-up by sponsoring the show as well as buying many of the 200 total tickets.  We will put the money to good use all year long."

Among Larry Carlton's chart topping hits are his current #1 radio hit with the band Fourplay:  My Love Is Leaving Me with Michael McDonald.  His band for the show is comprised of an A-list horn section and always brings the house down.

A three-time Grammy nominee, Michele Pillar released five critically acclaimed albums. Her new holiday album, "I Hear Angels Calling", (featuring Larry Carlton), will release November 28, 2006. Pillar will perform selections from her new project during the Closer To Home show.
