The Spring 2008 JA Bowl for Kids Season has come to a close with some
very exciting results. Sponsorships,
pledges and matching funds will bring us to
a grand total of $49,078.00! Many
thanks to all of our participating companies
on behalf of the students of the Hudson
Valley who will benefit from the Junior Achievement experience.

Fundraising Successes
All of our teams did an outstanding job raising funds for
JA. A few teams and individuals surpassed their fundraising goals and deserve special mention.
Keane & Beane P.C., with 2 teams, raised $2630, an average of
$263 per bowler. Their coordinator, Stephanie Roebuck is top fundraiser with pledges totaling $2360. Avon, with 7 teams, raised a total of $4740, making them the top fundraising company, aided by team members
Ugo Chiulli and Alma Madriaga who raised $615 and $505 respectively. Our largest company was Wachovia, bringing 11 teams and raising $3401. Best Buy Foundation donates
$100 for each of their bowlers. With 56 Best Buy
bowlers their gift to JA will be $5600, the
highest matching gift this year. Top
fundraising individuals also include
Sprint bowler, Anne Marie Horrigan with $600 in pledges, followed by Anthony Ruiz from Webster
Bank with $495 and Davis Abraham with
Changing Our World who raised $488.
Most Creative Incentive Award
goes to Sergio DaSilveira of
Webster Bank who promised to bowl in a skirt if his fundraising goal of $400 was
met. Successful in his goal and true to his word, we all had the pleasure of admiring Sergio's shapely gams. |

Our Fall Bowl for Kids events will be held on
Friday, November 7 & 14
at AMF White Plains Lanes. Please join us again for bowling and team building, all for a great cause - kids and their successful
future!
Reminder - If your pledge was eligible for a
matching gift, please complete the necessary paperwork and forward to us for completion and submission. Matched pledges can greatly increase our Bowl for
Kids revenue with no cost to you!
Prizes - Many of you have already received
your Bowl for Kids prize awards. Companies
that bowled on June 13 will be receiving their prizes this week.
New Companies - Do you have friends in other companies you could invite to
Bowl for Kids? Please tell them about Junior
Achievement and forward their contact information to us. We welcome new participation and will happily reach out to
them.
