Thanks to the helpful customer feedback we've received, we've added new capabilities to Chameleon version 4.1 that make it even easier to use.

 

We love keeping things simple, so we've added functionality to automate some of the most common user tasks.

 

Here are some of the highlights:

New Wizard: Import unrecognized segments

 

This new window lets you automatically import unrecognized segments that appear in your sample message data. This saves you time so you no longer have to tediously look for the individual segments yourself!

 

When parsing a message, any unrecognized segments can be immediately imported from Chameleon's built-in library, or from an existing VMD.

New Wizard:

This new wizard will automatically define a message and its identity directly from Chameleon's built-in Message Browser.

 

Creating a new HL7 message definition is now faster and easier than ever before!

New Message Matching Order Window

 

Occasionally it happens... you know, that tricky situation where two messages share overlapping identities. Which definition is matched first? Which definition takes precedence?

This new window now enables you to define and prioritize the order in which messages are identified, which helps to break ties when an inbound message has more than one potential message definition match.

 

A simple solution for a tricky situation!

Wait! There's even more good stuff...

 

If those new features aren't enough, Chameleon 4.1 comes loaded with even more enhancements, including:

 

• An easier method of escaping standard and extended ASCII characters
• A useful "Print" button in the Python Script and Python Summary windows
• A VMD file description field, to help you quickly identify different file versions
• Localized diffs which help to easily compare changes between two VMD.xml files
