Landscaping with Native Plants Lecture Tonight
Did the drought and water restrictions cause you to lose valuable landscaping in your yard? Tonight at 6:30pm at the Franklin Library on Columbia Avenue you can learn from horticulture expert, Andy Sudbrock, how to landscape your yard with native plants that require less water and find other ways to reduce your yard's use of drinking water. This lecture is being sponsored by the Harpeth River Watershed Association. Nashville Natives is a full service plant nursery and environmental restoration company who have successfully restored and carefully managed hundreds of acres of native plant communities over the past 15 years. All of their plants are of original Tennessee origin with most propagated from seed collected in the counties of middle Tennessee. This sounds like useful and interesting information.

Biodiesel Workshop Next Tuesday - RSVP Today!
Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson, The TMA Group, Clean Cities of Middle Tennessee and the Clean Air Partnership of Williamson County invite you to attend the 2007 Williamson County Biodiesel Workshop, Tuesday November 13, from 9:00am - 2:00pm. This workshop is free and open to the public and lunch is included at no charge. Feel free to send two or three attendees to this event. This is your opportunity to learn about this rapidly growing alternative fuel. It is domestic, renewable, American and can help your fleet save money. The workshop will provide the information you need to begin using biodiesel in your fleet. Here is why you need to learn about biodiesel:
- Biodiesel can help diesel engines last longer
- Fuel economy gains can further save money
- 35 biodiesel stations have opened in Tennessee in the last two years
The workshop will include presentations on:
- Why using this fuel is important to our community and our country
- What biodiesel is and where it comes from - biodiesel pros and cons
- What fleets in the USA and in Middle Tennessee are currently using biodiesel fuels
- How easy it is to integrate biodiesel into your current diesel infrastructure
- Testimonials from current users about the benefits of biodiesel

It is important that you RSVP TODAY IF POSSIBLE by email to dhenry@tmagroup.org. Include your name, company name, names of attendees, phone number and contact information. The workshop will be held at the Williamson County AdExpo Park, 4215 Long Lane, just east of I-65 at the Peytonsville exit.

Board of Mayor and Aldermen for 11/13
After the current board acknowledges receipt of the Williamson County Election Commission report on the 2007 City of Franklin Municipal election, City Administrator Jay Johnson will recognize outgoing city officials. The Honorable Justice Cornelia Clark, Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court, will then administer the Oath of Office to the newly elected mayor and aldermen-at-large. Following a recess, the new board will be seated for election of a vice-mayor, consideration of the mayor's appointments to committees, and nomination of the BOMA representative to the Franklin Municipal Planning Commission. Then it's business as usual.
Old Business
1.    Final reading of ordinance to rezone 7.13 acres from planned commercial (PC) to planned office (PO) and approve the concept plan Carothers Professional Center, south of Liberty Pike between Carothers Road and Edward Curd Lane - I still have concerns about mitigation of a stream on this site that has not been resolved
2.    Final reading of ordinance to implement a new schedule of Road Impact Fees
3.    Final reading of ordinance to amend emergency water restrictions, increase disconnect charges and provide for administrative cost recovery
New Business
1.    Consideration of ordinance to rezone 6.52 acres from estate residential (ER) to planned commercial (PC) and approve the concept plan for The Carrington, an assisted living facility on Riverside Drive
2.    Consideration of ordinance to rezone 2.72 acres from interstate commercial (IC) to planned commercial (PC) and approve the concept plan for 7007 Moores Lane to include an assisted living facility and restaurants and retail
