Drink this... it will make you feel better!
In keeping with our theme, this months recipe helps us cleanse and "Remove
Obstacles".
This months recipe came to me at a time when I was feeling like I needed to do some spring cleaning, not just in
my house, but in my body. We all indulge in foods that aren't good for us and even organic foods contain things that our bodies don't
need. Toxins built up in our bodies can act as a real obstacle in our journey towards health.
You may recognize this recipe from the Lemon Aid Diet, however, I didn't use it as a diet at all, rather as a way
to clean out the gunk and start over fresh. I did my "cleanse" over a period of two days, limiting my food intake to a small dinner of
clean food (brown rice, protein and vegetable). After just two days I experienced the following benefits:
~ Increased Energy
~ Clearer Complexion
~ Reduced Water Retention
~ A "Clean" Feeling Inside
And probably better than anything else, I actually gravitated towards foods that were better for me during this
period of time.
I love this little drink (it tastes great) and try to work it into a daily routine whenever I can. It's a
great way to keep those obstacles from building up in the first place.
Here's to your health! Lemon Aid Cleanse:
2 tbs Organic Lemon Juice
2 tbs Grade B Organic Maple Syrup
1/6 tsp Organic Cayenne Pepper
8 oz. Distilled or Reverse Osmosis Water
For Daily Cleansing Support: Drink one glass in the morning every day
For A 2 day "Spring Cleaning": Drink 8-10 glasses a day and whenever hungry, with a sensible dinner in
the evening of "clean" foods.
Important things to note: Only do the "Spring Cleaning" for as long as you feel comfortable. Follow your
body's cues and your own instincts. It is our humble opinion that the "diet" version of this is too long and has the potential to throw the body
too far out of balance.
This recipe came to me from The Weekly
Beet as originally excerpted from The Lemon Aid Diet.
