But you, O Bethlehem of
Ephrathah, who are one of the little clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from
ancient days. Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has brought forth; then the rest of his
kindred shall return to the people of Israel. And he shall stand and feed his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of
the name of the Lord his God. And they shall live secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth; and he shall be the one of
peace. (Micah 5:2-5a

Since February, drinking a cup of coffee at Caribou Coffee Shop on
Saturday morning at 10:00 has become a "must do." No, I do not seek solitude for myself...although that is not a bad
thing. I go to be with my Christian sisters.
Sometimes there may be only two or three of us. Sometimes
we may have as many as ten. There may be one conversation that involves all of us or several going on at one time.
The size of the group, or the conversations we engage in really don’t matter. It’s the fact that we are
together.
Some Saturdays someone may come with a problem that just talking satisfies
her need. Other times we tell jokes or stories that make us laugh until our faces hurt and our sides are sore.
Sometimes we cry with each other. But one thing’s for sure. I go away from there with a smile on
my face thinking...Life is good!
Perhaps you have a need in your life for some time with the “girls.” Come join us at Caribou
on Saturdays or perhaps start your own coffee group. But find some time to interact with your Christian sisters and
brothers. It really does change the way you look at life.

O God, whose Son Jesus is the good
shepherd of your people:
Grant that when we hear his voice
we may know him who calls us each by
name,
and follow where he leads;
who, with you and the Holy Spirit,
lives and reigns, one God, for ever and
ever. Amen.
