Hi
We are no longer able to escape the fact that winter is nearly upon us here in New Zealand.
Torrential
rain,
frosty mornings, and it's dark before dinner time.
We are gearing up for our National Fieldays though, Craig Hammond has just left for our first ever tour of Canada, a representative is about
to hit the European show circuit, and we are making two container drops to America. We certainly aren't slowing down!
We have a great issue for you of "Cutting Comments", showing you that it's possible to
mill even when you are 79 - and blind! We profile American owner Jerome Lauzon (who isn't blind), and have a great giveaway to
coincide
with
our teaser
Photo of the Month, challenging you to be both creative, and inventive!
As always, feel free to send
through your
questions, suggestions and comments to us. We love hearing from you.
Happy milling

Article: BLINDNESS DOESN'T STOP FREEBURG MAN
By David Heiller
Wilbert Schuldt had a job on his hands last Wednesday, but at least he could laugh about it. A massive cottonwood log lay
between the arms of his sawmill. "It was too big for Staggemeyer to buy, and I wish I hadn't seen it too," Schuldt said.
The tree had a diameter of 51
inches and was 10 feet long. Wilbert wasn't about to tackle the whole job that Wednesday morning. But he sliced off three 8-inch boards for me in
about two minutes. Not bad for a 79-year-old blind man . . . Keep reading.
Miller Profile: JEROME LAUZON
Jerome uses his Peterson part time to bring in some extra money,
and part time to make what he needs around his property in Putnam Station, in America. He loves the electric winch on his WPF and he can't imagine
his
mill without it, and his one recommendation is to take your time setting up the mill.
A COMPETITION - BECAUSE WE LOVE THEM!
Coinciding with May's Photo of the Month, we are running a competition to see just how clever and creative
you can be. Peterson's have designed a cool new, umm, product, and we want you to try and guess what
it is!
Check out Photo of the
Month, answer the simple questions, and you will be in to win a great prize pack!
PHOTO OF THE MONTH
A big teaser
We can't really say too much about this one, except that you are getting a sneak peak at Peterson's latest product,
that is a result of your feedback, and lots of R&D meetings.
So take a look and see if you can work out what it
is.

JOKE OF THE MONTH
“A husband's advice”
An elderly couple were attending their weekly church service. Half way through the sermon, the wife leant over and
said to her husband, "I just did a silent fart, what do you think I should do?"
The husband leant back and replied, "Put a new
battery in your hearing aid, dear."
