Green Meetings by Pogo

To celebrate Earth Month, POGO & I have started a new column dedicated to giving you some great ideas to help keep your meeting 'Green.'  Here's this month's tip:

See about collecting and donating leftover meeting and/or exhibit materials to charitable organizations like schools or shelters.

And no matter what you do to celebrate the Earth, just remember she's always been good to us!

Creative Meeting Tips from Pogo

Here's a great exercise to break people up into groups for smaller group exercises:

COMIC STRIP CHAOS

Each participant takes a turn at picking a comic frame out of the large container.  After the entire group has each chosen one, the participants begin to search for others with the same comic strip sequence.  After the participants have found everyone in their group, they must arrange themselves so that the sequence of frames are in chronological order to form the comic strip correctly.  Upon completion of sequence, the newly formed group sits down together.

Howdy Ya'al - DeeDee here.  Spring has sprung which means it's time to clean off those BBQs & get grilling!  I love to pair my burgers & dogs with something slightly unexpected - like this fresh, lemony dish.

Here's a dee-lish salad that makes a wonderful alternative to plain salad or cole salw.  It's also a dee-lightful main course when paired with a loaf of crusty bread, a few slices of Manchego, a glass of homemade Sangria & an evening in the yard!  Mmmm-mmmm!

Lemony Crab Salad with Baby Greens

Prep: 10 minutes; Total: 10 minutes
Servings: Makes 4 servings.

Ingredients:
1 pound fresh crab meat, picked over
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoons minced fresh Italian parsley
1 5-ounce package mixed baby greens (about 8 cups)
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Preparation:
In a large nonmetallic bowl, toss first 4 ingredients to combine.  Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Toss greens with 1/4 cup olive oil in a large bowl; season to taste with salt.  Divide among 4 plates. Mound crab on greens and serve.

Thanks for readin' Ya'all - 'Til next time!
