Main Street U.S.A. Platforms Have Arrived!
Patience is a virtue and we thank everyone for being just that and Olszewski Studios is happy to announce the arrival of the first run of the Main
Street U.S.A.
Platforms on December 20th, 2006.
Platform Set-Up Instructions!
There are detailed instructions that assist in setting up your platform and these can be found by clicking here which will take you to our
web-site.
The instructions provide a schematic of
where all the sculptures are to be placed. For those who are considering purchasing this one-of-a-kind Platform and have not reserved the
Platform yet, you can do that also on our web-site's For
Sale
page.
Main Street U.S.A. Platform Plexiglass Cover!
This is in response to a number of inquiries regarding the plexiglass cover shown in the photo. Olszewski Studios had the cover custom made at
a local plexiglass company and is not selling the cover. We recommend that you have one made locally and expect to pay between
$375.00-$445.00. Our local company here in Camarillo will make and sell the cover providing they have at least 25 orders for $305.00.
This item cannot be shipped and it would have to be picked up. For others outside of the area, Olszewski Studios suggests contacting a local
plexiglass company.
Artist Comments Re: The Cover!
A number of collectors have discussed the idea of making a coffee table out of the Platform using the
Plexilgass cover allowing it to be continuously displayed. Here are some thoughts from Bob about this great idea.
The Platform display plexiglass cover at Disneyland Gallery above the Pirates of the Caribbean Attractions is
about 21" in height
is just far too big as it takes at least four people to remove and replace it. Keep this in mind as you add new pieces to the
collection.
As a matter of fact, this cover will be replaced after the first of the year with the shorter version plexiglass cover that is about 12" in
height. This one is currently on display at the Nixon Library Train Exhibit through Jan 7, 2007.
Further, a coffee table height is about 16" so the Platform could actually either sit on the floor or a
set of short legs. The Platform base height plus the 12" plexiglass cover would make a great coffee table height of about 16". We would
further
recommend you consider protecting the top to keep it from scratching. One thought is to place a thinner piece of plexiglass on the top which
can be replaced if that happens.
Mark Your Calendars!
Robert Olszewski, Master Sculptor, will be appearing at the NFFC Show in Anaheim, CA on Sunday, January 14,
2006 beginning at noon for non-NFFC members. Signing is limited to three pieces.
