Dear ,
It has been a busy, exciting few months for Girls With Wings. From its conceptual creation to its legal recognition four
years ago to the volunteer organization it is today, we have proven the merit of “the movement to encourage more young girls
to have an interest in aviation” through successful presentations, networking booths and, most importantly, the website. We have hundreds of supporters, hundreds of crewmembers and hundreds of subscribers to this newsletter, and now we are going to get
nationwide exposure like we've never had before. In addition to the positive press we’ve already received, there is a new magazine launching in January 2009 to interest women in all areas of aviation, and the publisher is joining forces
with Girls With Wings to promote its mission. Girls need flight plans, not fairy tales... and this story is not
make-believe! |
Flight Plan Magazine needs your input. |

Your reward. Now, more than ever, it is time for those of you who want to actively volunteer in the Girls With Wings Project to get in on
the ground level and assist in its inevitable success. We are negotiating sponsorship deals, product development (yes, finally those dolls and
books!), and increased community outreach, among other things. Just like the title of the magazine, we need to
do our research and plot a route for our Flight Plan to reach our destination. If you have skills to contribute, please get in touch with me NOW and assure the success of Girls With Wings and our
future generations of young women. We don’t want any opportunities passing us by because we didn’t make the most of teaming like-minded
supporters with a common goal! |
Take action. Please visit the
updated Very Important Pilots website (the parent company of Girls With Wings) to
register your expertise, whatever it may be. The most pressing need is to form an
Advisory
Board to handle the legal, administrative, educational, marketing, etc., decisions for future Girls
With Wings developments. Based on the response we get during the month of October, we will publish specific items that need to be accomplished by the
end of the year in November. |

Why volunteer?
People usually don’t follow through with an offer for one of two reasons: they don’t want to or they don’t know how. You
obviously want to participate in Girls With Wings because you at the very least subscribe to this newsletter. And as far as knowing what to do
– we can determine that together. Girls With Wings is a new concept for an organization focusing exclusively on using women in aviation as role
models to inspire girls to achieve their full potential. That is a vision that we can achieve collectively. As always, please use the links at the top
of this newsletter to forward to others you think may be interested in supporting Girls With Wings. |
