Dear co-workers, friends, and family,

The joy of having water at the clinic and the staff housing in Amakom on Lake Bosomtwi is causing excitement.  On Monday the 28th through the gifts of many we should have running water from the bore hole that was drilled three years ago.

On the following week, on the 5th of February, we hope to move to this rural, village setting where we have been preparing to serve for quite some time.

House where we live in Amakom on the clinic property

In the last two months we have been working to get electricity working and renovations done in this house where we will soon call home and another small house for interns and guests.

Then, the next week, a team from Sylacauga, AL, USA is joining us and other missionaries for a week of outreach and work.

It's an exciting time of transition. Our vision is expanding as we truly begin to learn the way of life in the village, the needs of the people, and the ways that we can serve with His love.

"For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm." Ephesians 6:12-13

No metal can be put in the water, these are the only boats allowed

Pray for us to be able to reflect Jesus in this rural setting.  It will be our lives rather than our words that will have the greatest impact. Our actions must look like Jesus, not Western Christianity, money, or materialism. Stand with us for victory and patience to learn how to share the message of Jesus in a culturally relevant way.

Put Your Boots On

We are gearing up for a team from Sylacauga First United Methodist Church arriving in two weeks to show God's love in action with us.  In April, a visiting doctor from Brazil, then May another group to visit, June - August we will have  interns, and 3  medical school students working along side us.  Start thinking ahead for next year - when can you come?  Can you spend a year with us?

Praying for us is a powerful way to work with us.

Support through giving and advocacy is a great way to put your boots on!
