Lange Apology Unconvincing After
Previous Refusals to Recant and Exhuberent Cheers of Fellow Republicans
(Helena, MT)
Today, it is being reported that Michael Lange has apologized to Governor
Schweitzer for his "Expletive Laden
Tirade" yesterday in Montana's
Capitol.
Montana
Democrats doubt the scencerity of Lange's apology in light of comments already
made by Lange:
"Everything
I said in there is exactly what I meant, it's exactly what I stand on and I'm
not budging off of one comment or one word of it. I meant the truth . That's not showmanship that's called dignity
and honor out of it one bit."
Telling someone to stick it up his ass
is called dignity and honor?
"In
the real world, you bet it is , when the shoe fits, wear it."
[Rep. Mike Lange. April 25, 2007 following
his much reported remarks to the Republican caucus.]
During Lange's obscene rant that is now
being covered by the national media, Republican's cheered loudly as seen in this raw footage and even
shouted for a special session chanting Stay
'til May!"
"Obstructionist Republicans
actually want a Special Session that will cost taxpayers more than
$38,000 per day," said Jessica Rhoades,
a spokesperson for the Montana Democratic Party. "They have no excuse for
not finishing their work in the regular session, which ends Friday. When
Rep. Lange attacked the Governor, Republcians cheered and chanted 'Stay 'til
May'. They are irresponsible and should be held accountable in 2008."
The dozens of bills that have been heard and
passed by committees of both houses are now being held hostage by Republican
Speaker Scott Sales of Bozeman.
