3.65 GHz Opens US Telecoms
Markets - Given the wonders of 3.65 GHz spectrum and IP/IMS, there is nothing to impede foreign operators from setting up shop in US
telecom markets. Warning to domestic service providers-get on the stick!
The death of Muni Wi-Fi as we know it - Imagine you're an IT/telecom manager for a sizeable municipality and
its
time for a city-wide broadband wireless network. In the not so distant future, your choices will be Wi-Fi and WiMAX in the new 3650 MHz band (for
this
blog we assume the city has no spectrum other than 4.9 GHz for First Responders).
Impact of 3650 MHz Order - Yesterday's (June 07, 2007) Memorandum Order and Opinion from the FCC is good news
for WiMAX vendors, especially those who have labored long and hard in the 3.5 GHz international markets.
What does the FCC 3650 Ghz order mean? -
Yesterday (June 07, 2007), the FCC issued a Memorandum Opinion and Order as a follow up to its 2005 NPRM outlining its intention to open
3650-3700 MHz for broadband wireless use. I am not a lawyer and I do not claim to be a veteran FCC watcher but here's my take on the 30-page document
