Gerry Weinberg Memorial Resource Library
Founded in 2001, the Gerry Weinberg Memorial Resource Library is the on-site
lending library for Y-ME Illinois. Located in our offices in downtown Chicago,
the library boasts a collection of over 200 books covering topics from breast
reconstruction to managing chemotherapy to healthy eating after cancer. We also
have subscriptions to periodicals specific to women, cancer and breast cancer,
including MAMM, Cure, and Coping.
Recently, we expanded our library program adding Gerry's Breast Cancer Books
by Mail so that women are not required to visit our office to make use of the
materials in our library. You can now access our library catalog via the internet, request books by phone or email, and receive the books through the U.S. Postal
Service. Y-ME will cover all postage and shipping materials.
For more information about our program contact Abby Drevs, Program Coordinator,
at adrevs@y-me.org or 312-364-9071.

How to Find a Doctor or Treatment Facility If You Have Cancer
The National Cancer Institute recently introduced a new website designed to assist
those facing cancer through the process of finding a doctor and/or treatment facility.
If you have been diagnosed with cancer, finding a doctor and treatment facility
for your cancer care is an important step to getting the best treatment possible.
Although the health care system is complex, resources are available to guide you
in finding a doctor, getting a second opinion, and choosing a treatment facility.
Included on this site are suggestions and informational resources to help you
with these important decisions. Click here for the NCI Website.
