We made it home from a four day stay at the hospital Thursday. Last week Marcy felt she
needed a trach change - a "routine" procedure that we have had done every 6-9 months since getting the trach in 2003. It has only been 3 months since
the last change, but Marcy can feel when it is time. The procedure was Monday and went well, but Tuesday as we were looking to go home, a staph
infection showed in her blood and urine. Maybe this is what has been causing her fever for the last several weeks, we can treat it, and she can feel
better. We are giving her IV antibiotics at home now that they started in the hospital.

Fungal testing update: Our last email mentioned that fungal testing was stalled for now. Dr. Reid told us in the
hospital that he found a willing patient and sent blood samples to the doctor who tests blood for fungi and neurotoxins using a gc mass spec (see 4/26/07 email.) Dr. Reid doesn't know how long it will take to get the results.
If these tests are positive, it opens the door to much more interest throughout the medical community towards Dr. Reid's theory, hopefully leading to
much more work and positive results.

Marcy's Hoveround power wheelchair. They advertise that "it's round for a reason"
(easier navigation.) But the reason it's 'round our house is 'cause it hasn't sold. If you know someone who needs one, please tell them to check it

Matt is still in a pattern of working 30-40 hours a week and hanging out with friends for
128-138 hours a week. He goes to UT Chattanooga in mid-August, but he doesn't like thinking about that. He's enjoying being out of school. Do you
remember your Senior Summer?

Darcy, too, is enjoying the Summer. She is keeping busy (see 6/22 column) and has
really taken to sewing. Here Marcy poses with one of Darcy's stuffed cats. She wants to make more and take them to give to kids at Vanderbilt
Children's Hospital.

And Darcy and I bit the bullet and bought season passes to Nashville Shores. We have
already been 3 times this summer, thinking that will work as our vacation - one day at a time. This is Darcy and her friend Rachel. Sorry, no
pictures of me in a bathing suit.

We have been blessed to have our dinner calendar nearly full for several months. It
looks like we are still on a "summer schedule" and there are lots of openings in July. Click here to see the schedule and click here if you would like to bring dinner for us this summer.
We continue to get positive feedback from my weekly column in the Tennessean. If you
missed them and want to read them, here are links to the Tennessean site for ones written since our last email:
6/8 Brownies' Way In
6/15 Filling the Whole
6/22 Making Do - this one
had a couple of sentences at the end edited that I would have rather kept: "Since I haven't worked in over four years now, her resume is stronger
than mine! And more well rounded. But as mentioned earlier, I like to sit and stay. If you know someone in need, see if they can help answer one of
your needs. When they help you, you help them. Even if you don't have babies that need sitting, you can help someone stay on course to true
happiness."
6/29 Breathtaking Discovery
We continue to be blessed daily. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers - it is how we
have made it this long. Please forward this email to friends, especially if there's some way we can help them. Marcy still has time to pray, please
send your requests. Donations can still be sent to 2051 Harvington Drive, Franklin, TN, 37069.
We still believe and we continually thank God for your prayer and care.
Love.
