Scrap bookers Corner
Ever find those pictures from holidays past and wonder why you never did anything with the images? Chances are you are not alone. As a
matter of fact many studies show that with the dawn of digital, people are printing fewer images now that they can put them on a computer for
savings. This is great but why not share those priceless memories with friends and family.
If you are a scrap booker than the above idea is not new to you. However as I hear from most scrap book fans time is usually not on one's side.
For this reason I have come up with this tip for this years decor.
1) Start by sorting through those past holiday images either digital or film. Select two or three images. These can be
family, the kids, the food, you name it. If not already in printed form please have them printed.
2) Now find your local scrapbook store or your favorite online paper source. You will want to focus on one to three pieces of holiday
paper here. Try this link for some ideas and ordering help.
American Crafts paper has some great holiday paper for your needs. looking for something local then try Scrapadoodle in the
Peoria Metro Center.
3) Using what ever design skills you have trim your images to fit the layout of your choosing. You can lay out the images on a piece of
12x12 paper. Using the other paper choices you may have selected or just plain card stock, you add your own text, descriptions, or notes to
accompany the images on the paper.
4) Next find some holiday ribbon, ornament hooks, or glitter (the choices are all up to you) Use these embellishments to accent the look
of your page.
5) The time saver! Now instead of having to create multiple pages so that you have an album take this one page and do one of two things;
A) Purchase a Picture it Pageframe from your scrapbook store in which to mount your completed art work or B) mount your art work to
foam core using some acid free glue.
In either case you will have a unique conversation piece to use as a table center piece, wall art, or a gift give away (excellent for
grandparents!) This idea will also most likely inspire the rest of the family to look for those key picture moments to use for next year or the
upcoming book they are working on.
This unique article inspired by my wife who needless to say is a scrap book fanatic. Look for future tips and tricks ideas
from her. (Quite please she doesn't know this is her new responsibility yet ;-)
