Breast Cancer Leadership Training

Join us for an educational and motivational day for the grassroots activist and the grassroots
fundraiser on Tuesday October 10th, the day before the PBCC Annual Conference, at the Harrisburg Hilton. Two workshops will focus on what
you can do to raise awareness in your community about breast cancer and advocacy issues. Click here to complete the application form and return it to the
PBCC to be considered for this exciting new seminar! Deadline for applications has been extended to August 25.
Community Health Charities

The PBCC partners with Community Health Charities in workplace giving campaigns through:
- Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) for federal, civilian and military employees and the US Postal Service
- State Employees Combined Appeal (SECA) for Commonwealth of PA employees
- City of Philadelphia Employees Combined Campaign
Remember to designate the PBCC in your annual workplace giving. In the 2005 campaign, the generous donations to
the PBCC from these campaigns totaled over $19,000 for our programs!

August 19 (Rain Date August 20) Brodheadsville Pocono Motorcycling Sisters Poker
Run
Join the women of the Pocono Motorcycling Sisters for their poker run to benefit the PBCC! There will be five stops along the run with
refreshments available at the final stop. Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event. See PBCC events page for

Hershey Fun, Fit and Fabulous! A Confereence for Women of
Color
Stop by the PBCC's info table at this conference for women of color! Located at the Hershey Lodge, this
conference is a one-day women's health forum designed to help women of color make healthy lifestyle choices. See PBCC events

August 30
Hazleton 7th Annual Women's Invitational Golf Classic at Eagle Rock Golf
Resort
Bring some friends and your clubs for a fun-filled day of golf, food, and entertainment for women - all to benefit
the PBCC! Fee is $65 per person. Deadline for entry is August 24. See PBCC events page for further

September 14 Pittsburgh PA Governor's Conference for
Women

WESTMORELAND WALKS! Taking Steps Against Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk

All proceeds benefit the PBCC in the 5th Annual Westmoreland Walks to be held Saturday September 30 in Greensburg,
PA. The event begins at the beautiful Aestique Medical Center and travels to Twin Lakes Park. For more information or to register,

Fundraiser of the Month

On July 15, HealthAmerica and the State College Spikes teamed up to "Paint the Park Pink" for breast cancer
awareness. The sharply-dressed Spikes wore snazzy pink and black jerseys which were auctioned off after the game. More than 4000 people
attended and over $8000 was raised for the PBCC! Go Spikes! And thank you, HealthAmerica!

Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Conference speakers include Marian Wright Edelman, Founder and President of Children's Defense Fund; Teresa
Heinz, Chairman of the Heinz Family Philanthropies and the Heinz Endowments; and Mia Farrow, Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. Other notable

The PBCC's traveling photo exhibit visits Lycoming County this month. It will be held at the Lycoming Mall,
located at Routes I-180 and 220 in Pennsdale and will open with a reception on Wednesday, August 16. Speakers include Dr. Timothy J. Pagana,
Medical Director of the Kathryn Candor Lundy Breast Health Center and SurgiCenter/Susquehanna Health Systems; Dee Hoffman, the 67 Women - 67 Counties
photo exhibit participant from Tioga County; and Heather Hibshman, Executive Director of the PBCC.
