So Many Reasons to
Live On Campus
With the new semester upon us, many students are looking
ahead to housing options for fall 2008. If students want the convenience of
being within walking distance of friends, classes, and shopping on Grand River, then there is no better place to live than on
campus. There are many different styles of housing options available, and
unlike many off-campus apartments, parents do not need to co-sign housing
contracts. Besides great housing options, University Housing also offers a
variety of different meal plans to suit almost every type of college student,
so grocery shopping and cooking are two less things students have to worry
about.

Short on Cash?
While the holiday season can be a great time, it can easily
do some damage to a student's wallet. If students are running low on cash,
on-campus employment is a great solution.
Working on campus is an easy way to make some money, and can be a great
resume booster. On-campus employers work
around students' class schedules, and studies show that students who work while
going to school attain higher GPAs and learn how to manage their time more
efficiently than those who did not work. With an on-campus minimum wage of
$7.15 per hour, students can make $70-$100 a week by working just 10-15 hours.

Summer Housing
If your student will be taking classes at MSU this summer,
they don't need to worry about the hassle of finding an off-campus place to
sublet. The new University Village Apartments are now accepting applications
for summer 2008. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments include a living and
dining area, a full kitchen with a dishwasher, and are fully furnished. Meal
plans are optional, and all utilities are included, meaning students can enjoy air-conditioning
on those hot, humid, summer days.
