Ladies and gentlemen, the captain has turned on the FASTEN SEATBELT sign...
I'll admit it--lately I've become less of a fan of flying. Let's just say I had a bad experience descending
into the Windy City recently. Last week I was sitting by my 4-year-old son at 30,000 feet. A few bumps happened and I went white
knuckled. He did not even notice.
It's always the pilot who uses the phrase "minor
turbulence" This last week in the market was a bumpy one. How did you respond?
White knuckled? Did it challenge your fears? Rationally, I know thousands of planes arrive safely through a variety of adverse
conditions. Just don't try telling that to me at 30,000 feet when the plane dips and swerves.
Rationally, we know that the
equities markets are one of the long-term ways to outpace inflation. History will show you this convincingly (ask me to bring the mountain
chart next time we meet). Yet when weeks like last week happen, we can't help but think, what if this time it's all
over...I'm gonna lose it all.
I think there are 3 responses in light of our recent wake up call: 1. It is time to
re-address our risk tolerance? Would we settle for lower returns if it meant a "less bumpy" ride? 2. Are there funds I need
soon that shouldn't be in something as volatile? 3. Or, should I prepare for these minor setbacks, knowing that they are a part of
the process, and stay the course?
As your advisor, my hope is that you reach your destination. Thanks for flying with
Streamline Financial, and let us know if there's anything we can do.

Online Account Access
Most of our institutions provide online account access for you, the client. It is my personal belief
that: 1. You should have access to your account values, information, etc. without going through me every time.
2. You should have the ability to transact something without feeling like you need permission to access
your own money.
Please email me if you are NOT able to access your accounts, or would like help with a tutorial that would
empower you in this arena. If your question is minor, we have an ACCOUNT ACCESS page on our website where a customer service representative can address
any questions you may have.
