School Refusal and
Anxiety
It's back-to-school time. With the start of the school year approaching, anxiety is building for
many. Refusal to attend school may be the symptom of a larger problem.
The School Refusal & Anxiety Program at Alexian Brothers is
designed to help a wide variety of children and adolescents who struggle with school attendance. The goal of our program is the successful
reintegration of children and adolescents to school who use avoidance as a primary means of coping with stress. We then help the student and
their family to devise ways to successfully return to school.
