1st Week of Advent Devotions:
Thursday, 12/07/06
Here on Mount Zion the Lord Almighty will prepare a banquet
for all the nations of the world—a banquet of the richest food and the finest wine. Here he will suddenly remove the cloud
of sorrow that has been hanging over all the nations. The Sovereign Lord will destroy death forever! He will wipe away the tears from everyone's eyes
and take away the disgrace his people have suffered throughout the world. The Lord himself has spoken.
When it happens, everyone will say,
“He is our God! We have put our trust in him, and he has rescued us. He is the Lord! We have put our trust in him, and now we are happy and
joyful because he has saved us.” (Isaiah 25:6-9 TEV)

The year I turned 29, I experienced God’s grace for the first time,
a wonderful gift! But with the gift came a sense of urgency to find a church “alive with the Holy Spirit” for me and my young family.
Church of the Beloved was the fountain that watered my thirsty soul and that set me on my journey to learn more about my Lord.
Beloved guided me through the
Scriptures, reading the Old Testament for the first time, rediscovering the New Testament, giving me context and history to deepen my relationship
with Christ.
Beloved is where I
experienced the depth of the sacrament of Baptism and Reconciliation.
Beloved are the little children
dancing and bathing in God’s love during church service.
Beloved is a place where the
Holy Spirit can be felt.
Beloved is a safe and nurturing
community for our children to experience God’s love and participate in his church.
Beloved is my family in
Christ.
Happy 5th Birthday
Church of the Beloved! It is an honor to see my family blossom through the loving guidance of this Church.

Almighty God, give us
grace
to cast away the works of darkness,
and put on the armor of
light;
that on the last day,
when your Son Jesus Christ shall come
in glory
to judge both the living and the
dead,
we may rise to the life
immortal;
through him who lives and reigns with
you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
