Buy Green Power
Most of our
electricity is generated from fossil fuels: coal, oil and gas. Electricity generation produces 40 percent of the United State's carbon
emissions.
The term
"green power" refers to electricity produced from renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, geothermal, hydropower, and various forms
of biomass.
Currently, green power costs a little more than power produced from fossil fuels.
Puget Sound
Energy's (PSE) voluntary Green Power Program allows you to purchase green energy from sources right here in the Northwest for as
little as $4 per month. If you'd like to do more to support the development of clean, renewable energy in our region, you can puchase
additional green power in 160 kWh blocks at $2 each.
