Introducing lost teens to Jesus Christ...

losalamos.younglife.org

,

Recently I have been reading in the gospel of Mark. In chapter 11, Jesus 'curses' the fig tree and the next day the disciples noticed it had withered. He then teaches them about prayer, which I find interesting. He says "have faith in God." Then he says if you say to the mountain "throw yourself into the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him." That's amazing! Many have taken this scripture and twisted it to their own advantage, believing that whatever they ask for will be done. That is not what I think Jesus is saying.

As I read it, the assumption is that the disciple has Christ's heart. He has His desires before him. The disciple wants what God wants.  His focus is on the will of God, not his own selfish desires. With that in mind he says v24...

Mark 11:24 - "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

Pray first off that the requests below would be inline with God's deisres for Young Life and WyldLife. Pray for Christ's heart and desire for this ministry as I lead it; that my eyes would be that of Jesus and my heart would beat as His does for the "Lost Sheep" of Los Alamos.

And then join us in asking God for these items and believe that we have received them!

  • New leaders - for both WL and YL
  • Open doors in Pojoaque and Santa Fe
  • End of YL & WL clubs - that good fruit would be produced.
  • Summer Camp signups - that kids would sign up and leaders faithful to continue to recruit and build solid friendships
  • For our donors - that they would see Jesus through the ministry of Young Life and WyldLife.
  • Protection for leaders - they are under attack on different sides!
  • Prayer for Young Life Albuquerque - they are in deficit. Pray that God would provide the resources for them.

In His grip,
